VE75 Service
This year on the 75th anniversary of VE Day we were all due to come together to commemorate a time of joy when the guns fell silent and people were no longer fearful of the skies or invasion from the coast. Many of us were intending to go to events, attend church or religious services and think about those who sacrificed so much to survive the conflict.
Here in Southend-on-Sea, we were intending to be on the end of the Pier, being close to the water and ships and people, celebrating our town which fought so hard during WW2 and suffered so much. Hopefully, we will be able to do this next year and get to meet you all in person.
