In 1953 Britain was on the up! However, meat and bacon were still rationed, and the debts of WW2 were still being paid off. What had not changed for Southend-on-Sea was the need to attract tourist to its sunny shore and local film make Richard Pike produced this wonderful advert for the town narrated by famous war correspondent Frank Phillips.
