Kursaal Southend 1930s

The Southend Kursaal was a place well before its time and the envy of many other seaside resorts. The main building was a dance hall and concert venue, while the Fair Ground outside boasted wooden roller coasters, exciting rides, a wall of death, stalls , attractions, and even an elephant!  The Kursaal Fair Grounds occupied what is now the Kursaal Estate in Southend-on-Sea.  This clip from the Bygone Years  DVD was recovered and shared with us by documentary maker, Chris Taylor.
