Research and record your family history

Alastair Deacon

Wednesday 29 January

The Essex Society for Family History will be making a welcome return to The Forum on Saturday 8 February, between 10am and 3pm, for another highly anticipated ‘Family History Drop-in Surgery’.

Expert help will be available to anyone wishing to advance their family history research. Whether you are a seasoned genealogist facing an obstacle in your studies, or an absolute beginner launching into this fascinating hobby for the first time: help is at hand!

There are many invaluable resources available from your local library and online, which can help you discover the facts about your ancestors; equally there are many pitfalls which can lead you upon the wrong path. With a host of experts to guide your research, who knows what you’ll find?

Bring your family history queries and conundrums, photographs and documents; or just drop by to ask that burning question.

This is a free drop-in event, open to all.

Alongside this event Blade Education will be hosting ‘WW2 Memories’, an Oral History Recording Session for anyone with first-hand experience of wartime life: preserving your memories of this seminal passage in Britain’s history to provide an invaluable insight for future generations.

Do you remember the bombing campaigns? Were you a child evacuee? Do you remember living with rationing? If you have any recollections of the Second World War, drop in between 10am – 3pm.
